hi-- I have a "restored" 600 that the water temp light goes on very quickly after running. I traced my water temp warning light sending unit to where my oil pressure sending unit is installed in the block. So it is set up as an oil temp warning light now.... is this common? I have done a little research and looked in various repair manuals and it looks like the stock set up is a sending unit that is a held down by a head bolt and measures the surface temp of the cylinder head. Does anyone know where I can get one? I've looked online and cant find anyone with one in stock or will ship to the USA. if not anyone have a work around like a generic temp switch (part number or switching temp) and a good spot to put it? I am not concerned with it being stock just want it functioning. Thanks!

Here's a couple of European parts suppliers that list coolant temperature warning light sender units that fit under a Fiat 600 cyl. head bolt. Afaik, these suppliers will ship to the U.S. Please note the prices are in Euro so you'll need to check the price in $$ plus shipping before deciding if you want to order.

I can't remember if you need to omit the thick washer under a cyl head bolt if using this sender but this might be shown in a 'shop manual?

You'll notice there were 2 different terminal types used = spade or bullet.

There are some Fiat part no's shown on the 1st website which might help you to find a supplier in the U.S.?
There's also a Veglia (the original manufacturer) part no. on the 1st illustration of the sender unit but I couldn't make out the number

Thank you for the leads. I just ordered one from old timers. Having the part number sure helps finding the suppliers!
