im trying to find out for a friend. i dont own the car otherwise i wouldve wipped off the doorcards but just trying to get her the right info to buy some. already upgraded the fronts and now the backs cant handle the volume haha
cheers anywaays
I agree BUT the rear speakers are the first to distort in the standard setup - even on head unit power, moderate volume - they buzz and flap where the front speakers are still going strong, and that's with a +2 fade to the front...
I am considering just 'fixing' the problem with rear speakers only - they're that useless - but I will probably do an upgrade of all speakers. I'll be open to suggestions on which speakers would do what I want - just want a nice clear sound on headunit power.
The standard speakers are paper cone with tiny magnet and plastic basket, and they produce an amazing amount of sound given their construction. The disappointment I have had in the past is that a bigger, heavier speaker actually produces less midrange sound than the standard crap. Therefore I hope that a more expensive speaker - with higher sensitivity - will produce enough sound to be useful.
