Technical Fiat 500 mystery symbol

Hello everyone! I'm new here I'm in hoping you could help me! I've just been cheeky and brought myself a new fiat 500 Collezione, after running my previous fiat 500 into the ground!
It's lovely and very technical, but unfortunately I'm not that bright when it comes to technology! Most things myself (or my dad) can figure out! But this ones got us! Please help!

On my media screen, on the drivers side there's this symbol that changes colour throughout the drive. It goes from red, orange, yellow and green. I've tried google and the handbook but I can't find anything....please help!

i bet it's something really simple! But I just can't figure it out!

Ok it's not a smiley face, but it does kinda look like it... it's a colon and a close bracket!!
