Hi,
I would be really grateful if someone could offer any help or advice with this problem - I'll keep it as brief as possible.
Yesterday, I bought a 2008 Fiat 500 Lounge. When I woke up this morning and looked at it parked on the drive, the electric sunroof was open and, because it had rained last night, there was a lot of water and general dampness inside. The front seats were quite wet and have now badly stained. The strange thing is; when I went to bed, I looked out of the window and the sunroof was definitely closed! (my daughter even took a photo of the car sitting on the drive just before we went to bed, so I KNOW it was closed).
The only thing we can think of is that, on page 42 of the Owner Handbook under the heading Initialisation Procedure, it says:
"Sunroof shall be re-initialised after disconnecting the battery or if the relevant protection fuse has blown".
I've been to Halfords to have the battery checked out and they say it is fine. But obviously they can't really help with the protection fuse issue (and I admit to not having a clue what this actually means!).
Would this be the cause of the problem? I would be grateful if anyone knows the answer before I either take it back to the dealer, or to a garage to have the problem investigated.
Many thanks in advance.
