Omg I've just followed that link you sent, on there the gaiter is black and the gear stick is white :S but i didn't realise, does it cover up your gear numbers? Or am I being silly? I think I would prefer to be able to see the gears lol

I believe that when you order as a factory fitted option the gear knob is the same as the ambience of the car (not sure about the gaiter). Also, because the leather knob doesn't have the gear positions on it like the original there is a little plate on the gaiter with that info, see below.

Ah Ok thanks, I think I've gone off the leather gear knob now, he's written down the spec yesterday though and said he was putting the order in today, I'm slightly worried that he's gonna be annoyed with me haha I want to cancel the Supaguard and take off the leather gear knob now

he is probbaly reading this thread and will be hurt :)

sorry if you have done this already.... dont forget to order the FREE Tomtom holder in the dashboard, not sure if you have seen it, its factory installed hole with connections under.

would be great if someone (RUI !!) could make a plastic insert to fit in there and hold a flower - for ladies of course.

Oh I didn't know anything about the TomTom holder, do you have a photograph? I have sat nav on my phone so don't actually have a TomTom. I'd love a flower holder though! Ha

Yes I kept within budget on the extras :) would've liked the glass roof but can't have everything :s

On the URL that you looked on where the knob is white and the gaiter is black - in reality is gaiter is white to match the knob.
Personally I prefer the round knob as opposed to a leather one (!) but despite that I would still recommend the leather knob and gaiter (it will be matching white). At £70 is OK value but the ebay price at £25 is an excellent price.
The changes you are making are 'tiny' - it's unlikely he has even put the order through. Every few bob is worth saving.

RE the Sat Nav port in the dash that Arorat is referring to the dock port should come with your B&Me extra but you should qualify it on the order just in case it is left out. As a gadget man - men love those little things.

I just checked my order form, the correct wording is "TOMTOM PREDISPOSITION", as mentioned its free but you have to request it, not sure if its fitted by default but please ask. Also ask if there is anything else free, try to get car mats, keyring cover and if you can stretch, the italian logos on top of side indicators thrown in, tell them you will mention their name on a Fiat Forum and they may get extra orders.

Oh just relaised, not sure if it can be ordered on a PoP without Blue&Me.

Sorry cant find a pic

Excellent advice from arorat (y).

Picture - you will have to 'magnify' the area just left of the speedometer housing near the windscreen just right of the vent...

Its not even about saving the £70, I just want it to be perfect and I hadn't seen any of the cars on the forecourt with the leather gearknobs and now having seen a photograph I prefer it without. Think I'd like the Body Coloured mirrors though :) So I've told him that too! I will mention the Sat Nav Port also. I have been looking at the Fiat 500 mats aswell, they're £50 on ebay! Anybody reckon I could get him to throw those in for free? My friend recently ordered a brand new car and they gave her free mats, full tank of fuel and 7 days insurance :) Happy Days!

If you are unsure about the leather knob and gaiter leave it out. You can always get if off ebay at 1/3 of the price and you can revert back to the 'old one' if you don't like it.
Mirrors - you can add chrome backs for £70. I'm not into too much chrome but they are way better than the plastic backs. Colour coding gives you heated glass but your extras are now climbing.
Use your charm on him for the mats :) and the 2 tanks of petrol :) and also work out a package price on servicing over the 3 years if that can be done:)

This is the docking port on the dash, sorry it is LHD, but you get the picture, Ha!Ha!

This is how it looks with SatNav fitted.

Yes I saw the chrome ones I was more into the body coloured though, I know its double the price but over the 4 years its only an extra £2 a month so I thought what the hell :) I forgot to ask about the service packages, family members keep saying to me not to go to the dealers for servicing though as they are too expensive. So not sure what to do there.

How many miles do you expect to do? If reasonably low, then any servicing package (even if you can get one) probably would not make financial sense as in the first three years you will probably only need two low mileage services with an 18,000 mile service in between.

Good point raised by RobinPJ. I would recommend an oil change on the 'new' engine at the 6 months stage - realise that Rachel wouldn't be doing any drag racing but given the recent discussions on oil waiting until it has done 18K for an oil change is way too long. Although if it is done at 12 months say at 9K it should still be OK.

Yes I have ordered the Blue & Me & Leather Steering Wheel with Audio Controls, both I and the dealer were saying yesterday they should just group those 2 together because you can't have one without the other so why list them seperately? Silly Fiat!

Would be interesting to see the full spec and the final price, I just wonder if the lounge would be better value, yes use your charm as Multispoke has said.

Yes. I totally prefer the body coloured mirrors - at around £120 ? they are not that much more and you get the heated glass - probably good value. Losing the gear knob & the Supa? will compensate. Go for it despite arorat's good advice 'warning' about getting close to the lounge model.
Servicing - stick with Fiat - keep it simple - makes warranty claims easier - hopefully you will have none - very simple.

I can't recall but someone did! I remember discussing how much it was worth. Unfortuinately the way fuel prices are going it is about £1,000 these days....
