Mine, a Jan 11 car, does not have one.... although to be honest, I'm not sure where I should be looking.

it would be just to the left of where the speedo/rev cluster is on the dashboard.

Heres a picture of the port

I've got one so thinking of getting the Tom Tom unit.

Am I right in thinking (having read the thread in the sat nav section) that the latest version of Blue n me in a 500 allows use of the full functionality of the tom tom unit?

Cheers

It's a lounge I have and it didn't come with it, was also told it was impossible to fit after market, was a bit annoyed really but was too keen to get my new car to make a big deal about it.

Unfortunately it isn't fully functional with all aspects of BLUE&ME. For instance the TomTom gives you the option of using the car speakers for hearing instructions (useful as it would cut the radio/cd/MP) but the Fiat BLUE&ME doesn't support it.

There are a couple of other things as well but I can't remember what they were off hand having sold mine as the Abarth doesn't have the dash port.

Shame because it is a good unit but I am now back to using my trusty old TomTom 730T.

Thats exactly the sort of info I was needing, ta.

I 'need' a new sat nav as my Becker is now 4 years old and they want more than the cost of a new one to download the latest maps.

Cheers

Rallycinq, you can also buy the cradle separately for about £40 and then slot a tomtom in, what tomtom's fit in I'm not sure, but it can be done :) Just doesn't support some of the ecodrive functions but I think the price differential means it's no big loss.

The BLUE&ME TomTom is based on the tomTom 750/950 and because of the differences in the connections (my 730T uses a mini USB) I wasn't able to dock mine otherwise I would have gone the cradle route.

Having said that the BLUE&ME unit is as comphrehensive as it's TomTom counterpart with the benefits of being able to show car related info on the screen and the media player functions can be controlled by the unit. (y)

If you do get one TomTom Home doesn't support some of the functions that it does on the standard TomTom as yet and the free map upgrade wasn't recognised as being available to download. In the end the TomTom support (oxymoron?) guy made it available for me in my account.

One tip, don't use your existing account if you already have one but start another with a different email address or that will cause probs as well.

I could be wrong but I wonder if the 730 uses an older style connection and the 750 is newer and therefore will go in the dock? Someone else on here said they put a 750 and the dock together and it was fine.

Took delivery of mine today, it DOES have this port. and i didnt ask for it.

I have a 1.2 pop with Blue&me. Guessing it might be included within that now.

i have the 2010 500, may i be able to get the tomtom sat nav, and how can i check if the port is present without heading to the dealer??

I was looking at a 2010 1.2 Lounge in Dublin and it had the sat nav. port. The dealer couldn't lay his hands on the 'log book' but it appeared to be a mid 2010 model judging by the number on the reg plate. I got pretty interested in the car. Good selling point for the car if you put the Tom Tom into it - dealer (an ex-Fiat guy) didn't know what it was for and had no idea how to work the handsfree, the voice control or the computer (dash readouts).
