Syphon out the coolant, run it through a filter, and reuse it.
Seems to have a bung in it in the picture
If it's just a slip on bung, I'd want to modify it; remember it's under pressure when the engine is hot.
New rad in just waiting for the antifreeze to arrive did make a rookie mistake, if you're really struggling to get the bumper cover on, check you've not put the top bumper beam(the one with the polystyrene on removed to remove and replace the rad) make sure it's not upside down!
Done that many a time. More so with the polystyrene upside down.
Stupid question how so you get the radiator full? Slowly filled the system started for 30 seconds filled more, let cool filled more, drove a few miles filled more to max but there's still a gap at the top just under the top hose, as it's new it's easy to see the pink coolant so far put 4.5l in.
Just keep topping up to the max line each time the engine is cold. After a while, it'll settle down.

I run up to temp with the top off and give the bottom hose a good hard sqeeze this seems to help displace trapped air
Take the cap off, start the engine, let it get warm and remove the screw in bleed screw on the pipe on the right hand side (as you're looking at the car) beside the airbag. Keep pouring coolant in until it comes out of the hole. Replace the bleed screw and keep running with the cap off until no more air bubbles appear if you look into the cap. Put the cap back on and put the heater on and give it some revs with the fan on full blast to push it through the heater matrix. As you give it revs you may hear it bubbling as it's pushing air around. When the warm air starts to flow, you're pretty much there.
So when I was at the tip with the old box I only then noticed they provide a bung and clip to block the hole in the rad if not required
I think mine have got lost prior to delivery in the past. I thought they had just stopped putting them in. I only buy the EIS ones now that don't need them.
The one I went for was only £60 delivered, German writing on the box made in China on sticker, seems fine.
EIS are cheaper than that and are very close to OEM
