Fiat 131 gearbox

Hello.
I have a 131 gearbox and a Fiat Tipo turbo diesel gearbox, i am changing my vehicle to a Fiat Tipo turbo diesel and want to use the 131 box.
I want to know if i can swap the gears from the Tipo box into the 131 box, without stripping the two boxes aside from the ratios which is why im looking at doing this, are the gears able to be swapped or are they so different as not to be used?.
Would the 131 box be ok behind a diesel as is?, i know they are a stout box and if it can be used as is, is there any other tips or tricks to make this box last?.

I'd be VERY surprised if the gearboxes have any shareable components. Tipo box is quite a bit newer and FWD. In terms of modifying the 131 box, you may have luck as twincam conversions are/were popular here for older british cars, like morris minors! though as to whether they'll have what you want is another matter.

As i suspected, i assume the 131 box can cope with the torque of the diesel engine?.
What ratios do these boxes run?, the box i have has stamped on it 131 BB.
