Yes but they were old and fat and pretty unbelievable that grannies and grandads would be saving the galaxy from Klingons and not funky young folks. I liked 4 best namely because of all the cheesiness when they came back to the 80s.

The Voyage Home?? Purrrlleeeeesssseeee! That was the one that broke the "Odd-numbered" rule.

Wrath of Khan with Riccardo Montalbahns legendary performance as Khan was the best closely followed by First Contact.

TVH? Desperately seeking Zimmers more like.

The films only got good when they got to the 'so bad they're funny' stage ;)
Did you SEE The Final Frontier? That was so bad it started off funny but then they actually tried to be funny and it all went wrong. By God that was a bad film. Worst of the lot!

Havng said that, Generations showed the true story of Star trek i.e. Picard getting his butt wupped until Kirk had to come along and save his wimp-French-ass! ;)

I agree you can't beat the original team :). How did they cope in the spin-offs without that old 'beam me up Scotty' line?
*Saddo alert* Useless trivia coming up.....

No-one ever actually said "Beam me up Scotty" you know but I know what you mean. "Make it so" is so lame.

I voted Star Trek - not keen on the original series, but love Next Gen and Voyager - DS9 was ok, but not as good. Never got into Enterprise, either.....

Hitchhikers Guide - wow, haven't seen that floating around for ages - read all the books years ago, loved them. The series was good, although can't remember how many shows it ran for?

Blakes 7 - hmm, def one for when I was a child - I remember making those communicator wrist bands with cardboard and foam, lol.

Think about this

Your a small boy who loves cars then you find a TV prog with a car that can go 300mph and jump over lorries, talk etc etc

Then some years later your on a forum and you come across this thread!

What am I going to vote for?

Hi all,

Pete, was someone eversdropping on our conversation at Donington lol???

I may be able to clear up the mystery of what happened at the end of Quantum Leap:

In the last episode Sam meets God, in the form of a bartender, on the day he (Sam) was born. He talks it all out with the guy (very deep & very confusing), and it all winds up that he fixes it so Al never split-up with his first wife, and therefore never joined the project. Therefore the project never existed, can't remember what happened to Gushie (sp?) but he ended up happy too. But Sam never went home. He continued leaping doing God's bidding, but without the help of Al or Ziggy or anyone (WTF?). It all got a bit too deep, soppy and preachy and I felt really let down :( That's the gist of it as I recall; any uber-geeks feel free to correct me if I've got it wrong.

Right now I've shown myself up to be far too much of a geek for my own good, I'll be off.

HTH

Hel

BTW, I'm into FAR too much sci-fi, and I'd vote The X Files (seasons 1-4/5ish before Carter lost the plot, literally) but it isn't there. Reading Asimov's Foundation at the mo....bloody brilliant! Bye x

It always makes me wonder how Michael Knight became a lifeguard!? But at least he had better things to look at than KITT :)

QUANTUM LEAP????

Good prog but where are the special effects? No.

Wht about Al walking round being a hologram and also the transition at the end/begining of the shows and also the voice dubbing?

All special effects to me!
