Hi there,

Coming home from my brother's tonight, my left front Shock Absorber (I think) started making a funny noise (The sort of noise when your wheel is about to fall off). It use to make a clicking noise for quite some time, but it's now more of a thumpy noise, although only on the left front, all the other suspension is fine.

I was wondering, am I right in thinking it is the Shock Absorber or could it be something else? The car has G-Max lowering springs (40mm) and G-Max Shocks.

Also, is there any place I can buy them quite cheaply, as I'm a young bloke with not a lot of money - I only need the fronts, but still want them to be non-standard. So about a £50 budget, I tried Ebay, but no joy.

The car is a Bravo 1.6SX, 1997 P Reg.

Cheers,
Matt

Re: Untitled

Ugh I didn't put a title and I do not know how to edit it!! So stupid.

Forgot to mention, the car also scrubs with passengers, but only on that front left again!

Re: Untitled

you sure your wheel bolts aren't loose, I had that noise once and it turned out to be that :)

Hi mate,

I took the wheel off and had a good smoochy around, but I haven't a clue what I'm looking for so didn't find anything, lol. Put the wheel back on and it was still making that horrid noise unfortunately!

Thanks for the reply mate.

Cheers,
Matt

(Thanks for editing the Title)

if it does it when turning bends etc, then its new wishbones you need, as one or both the ball joints will be worn out.

Hiya Buzz,

There is sometimes a knocking noise when I turn left, but it's mainly over bumps in the road.
I'm going to phone up the garage at 9am and see when he can fit me in next week. Hopefully it's not too expensive!

Cheers,
Matt
