Hello,

I got a Alfa romeo Mito, but it's eqquiped with the great 0,9 Twinair and 105 HP.

I got from time to time the engine check light that goes on.
When I check the fault, I always got :

P1541-22
P1540-13

Definition : Variable displacement engine oil pump ( for both codes)

I don't think that my oil pump is broken, because the car runs great.

Oil level is good
Oil pressure is good
I got the right oil.

Does one of you have any experience with that fault?
Is there a sensor at the oil pump?

Thanks.

Yep, I have the exact same issue with mine.
It appears to be an electrical fault in the oil pump pressure regulator solenoid.
Might be a faulty clip, for that you apparently have to drop the engine sump, and reconnect or change the connector inside.

However, in my case, I also have a P065A-68 fault, indicating a malfunction with the alternator.
I hope this fault might also be caused by the faulty electrical output from the alternator.

My reasoning is simple, both codes, P1541-22 and P-1540-13 seem to be the exact opposite from one another.

P1541-22 : Signal too high (above max threshold)
P1540-13 : Open Circuit (No connection whatsoever)

So yeah, still investigating things on my part, there is no reference (as far as I know) for both codes appearing at once. You are the only one on the whole internet that appears to have the same issue.

By the way, did you figure it out?
