Got the cinq a diagnostic today and have been advised to ask you guys about this error code;

Error 22 - Carbon Filter (whats a carbon filter? lol, is it that big thing with a blue pipe going into it? :p)

Average Engine Idle 848rpm

Not sure anyone can make sense of any of this [?]

Abarth Kitted Cinq Sporting, New lil siggy pic coming soon, till then.... not much really lol

all i know bout the carbon filter is that its totally pointless its just for e.u regulations to bring emmisions down. thats wat my mate recons n e way [?][?][?]

hmmm, so this wouldnt be the cause of a funny start (the car starts then gurgles cough splutters and stops, then starts again fine) and hesitation (cough gurgle vrmmmm lol, gotta love my technical descriptions :p)

mine gurgles coughs and splutters if u nearly make it stall. just like my uno did although my uno never recovered from a near stall and would sit at "nearly stalling" revs for about 5 minutes and would then nearly stall itself at every junction untill you turned it off and left it for 30mins...

however, me telling you that doesnt help your problem whatsoever :)

Could be, it might be drawing off the petrol vapour when it's not supposed to.

Might be linked to it having been bashed out of the way mind....

wel put it this way, mine is level with the bumper. Yours has the Abarth lower bumper and your filter still hangs lower than mine!lol

Alex, I still think your car is over fuelling. The error that came up on that Carbon Filter could IMO, be caused by it being overwhelmed by the amount of fuel vapour.

hmmm, well like i mentioned briefly, it is doing about 180 miles to a full tank, although to be fair some of my driving is somewhat enthusiastic

not sure what the next step is to be honest

180, you are kidding me [:0]

down to stanford mine did aronud 340miles from one tank, and with me tanking it round country lanes up here it still did over 200

Cinq Sporting - and yes, its broom yellow!

180 is country lanes mainly, and when i say "full tank" i mean till the light will be on constantly (about £24 petrol, at 81.9ppl)

LOL, Lambda sensor checked out OK. I may have one in the pile though if you want to take a gamble.

well there is defo something other than this wrong im 99.9% sure of it

what its doing;

when moving off at junctions it'll either; Backfire and then go, cough splutter and go but with powerloss and then as it gets nearer the redline will suddenly pull to full power kinda thing
when starting 50/50 chance it'll cough splutter and need starting again

plus the bad mileage as per mentioned
