Not been on here much, so I hope everyone is doing ok.
I've addressed this to you Sven as I know you seem to know about this sort of thing
The other day when driving home from work my ABS system decided to start working every time I pressed the brake pedal and the pump could be heard working too. Towards the end of the journey the hand brake light came on.
I left the car on the drive for a while and then went back out to test it again and this time the ABS light stayed on but no handbrake light. After driving a few metres the light went out, but the ABS still kept cutting in.
For now I've just disconnected the two rear sensors which has stopped the pump from working and obviously the ABS light is on permanently now.
My first question is does disconnecting the two rear sensors completely overide the whole system, or do I risk locking up the rears in the event of heavy braking?
And secondly, does this sound like the sensors are giving an incorrect signal or the ABS control unit itself?
Apart from this the Marea has been pretty trouble free for ages so I was expecting something to go wrong sooner or later.
Many thanks in advance.
John
