im pretty p1ssed off that the early jts' were underpowered ive got an 03 they came out 02 so im not sure bout mine.

low down its seems to have a nice bit of pull but higher up the revs it seems to die. super smooth right up to 7k
 
not as yet, hopefully in the making.

autodelta do it, been considering the 'gta' mod with a panel filter and the tune free a few ponies maybe. definatly seems to be holding back higher up tho
 
Believe me I've trawled that place, getting a strut brace for it is a pain too. Need to get one from the stealers for about £120 :(

nasty! im still in limbo whether or not do have a play with mine. as it is, sits lovely on the golf course carpark(im only 20 lol!:)) and is a very respectable car.

BUT ive still got that urge to go lower and faster an all the other crap that comes with it lol
 
lowering is one of the things that is necessary on the 156, the standard suspension set up is shocking

im not sure how true it is but apparantly the veloce sits a litle lower than some? its more of the balloon tyres im wearin at the moment OH DEAR!!!
 
Yeah, the Veloce has sports suspension as standard (or at least should have). I think it may have been optional on the earlier models.

Hopefully I'll get a new job soon and I'll be investing in the full kit.

Update....

Went to see that 156, absolute corker, Capri Blue with 30k on the clock, black leather and all the gadgets etc...

Interestingly tho' for a bit more money there was a silver one with only 10k on the clock, same spec...

What do you reckon....

Well impressed with the overall package and I'm sure I could get used to the diesel soundtrack in time...???
 
How much more money are we talking? - I don't think 20k miles is a big difference really.

Was it the 20v Multijet you were looking at?

The noise of the engines when they're going is phenomenal :)

Not a significant amount, it's just that I have this thing about silver cars...Don't like 'em, don't ask me why, it's possibly because a couple of years ago every bloody car seemed to be silver, but they just pxxs me off....

There was a top spec GTA there in red, the 3.2 jobbie...Now that's the colour to have an Alfa in, especially with those red Alpha brakes as well..Flippin' gorgeous!!

If it had been red, I'd have bought it there and then....
 
I'm not a fan of silver either...for the same reason. I'm not keen on the red as it seems to date/age badly compared to other colours, but the GTA is a lovely piece of kit...maybe next year ;)

There's a fella (and his dad) on one of the Alfa forums who's transplanting the 3.2GTA engine and all the other stuff into a 156 that was originally the 2.5V6, very interesting stuff.

On a smaller scale I'm thinking of painting the calipers during the summer :)

It's the fuel costs that are killing me at the moment, that's why I'm looking at a diesel...

The Mrs would have my testicles on toast if I trundled up in a 3.2 saying "Sorry pet, I couldn't resist it!!!"

It must be one of the last 156's though, because the lights are different to yours, seem to be more fared in as it were, and I know that now it's the 159 isn't it with that line of three headlghts.

The guy said it's the 175 bhp engine, would that make it the multijet one you were asking about?
 
Yeah, the facelift 156 came out in 2003 along with the 175bhp engine. tbh I don't like the look of the facelift.

G5een's car is good because it the pre-facelift exterior with the post-facelift interior (digital climate control and computer) - shame it's only a 2l petrol ;)
