FAO everyone: problems with anonymous people

it seems we`re having a problem with anonymous people again, who, join in but for all the wrong reasons, they also don`t have the backbone to identify themselves, i think Rob has mentioned this a while ago, and not to reply back to `em, even though i did, (wont be doin it again).
By replying its bringing the child out of them.
If possible just ignore them.

thats about the best advice i can give.
if you see some B$ from an anon poster, ignore it because the mods will eventually see it and remove it. If everyone rises to the bait, then the whole thread is wasted and full of crap.

It's a good point Rob. Baiting the flamers and trolls only gives them the attention they crave. It's very sad that some people have such vacuous lives that they need to create a feeling of worth and self belief through pretending to be an aggressive, opinionated individual, when in real life, if they were down the pub spouting off the rubbish they type online, they'd end up with a glass in their face. In fact, in real life they probably don't even make it out of the front door, scared of the outside world and social contact

Anonymous posting is allowed here. We won't stop it. But anyone posting crap without a name will risk having their posts deleted without explanation. Most decent individuals will post with at least a name because they have the cahounas to take it as well as dish it out.

Above all, 99% of people posting here behave (pretty) impeccably and we are very thankful of that. Go to most forums with elaborate moderation facilities and you will find no end of locked posts and banned members. We have very few. The vast majority of BOO members and users behave with great respect and intelligence, both on the forum and especially in public at the meets. We have a fantastic reputation in the car club world thanks to people like that. That is a reputation that I will fight to the hilt to preserve.
