how did you route 1 or possibly more cold air feed to the cone?? theres no room!

when installing mine i left the standard air feed from behind the grill as it looks as though it does the job, i just want to get some more cold air to it...any tricks/ideas?!

Mine just sits at the end of the standard fiat hosing that runs from the grill down infront of the nearside front wheel.

It could do with being better but I am thinking of replacing the system shortly anyway.

Still makes a VERY nice noise when you blip the accelerator though :)

i know where you mean, thats the base of the Oe air box isnt it, did you just ectend a piece of pipe further towards the k& N?

On mine there is a rubber piece attached which goes done infront of the arch and also a pipe that runs from below this point up so they meet and then feed in to the K&N filter. I can't see where the bottom pipe comes out under the car but its standard fiat stuff.

Here is a particularly unclean looking under bonnet view from a few months back.

ok right thats a neat way of doing it, mine is sat in the tray bit, you know the underside of the OE air filter box. i suppose your placing is better as it keeps it away from hot air etc!

Gave the filter a good clean the other day with a K&N 'recharger' cleaning kit. Cost £15 and may well have been a rip off but it will last for another 4 or 5 times cleaning it and I didnt want to damage the filter.

Couldn't believe how much crap came out of it, car sounds a loud better now too.

well thats good to know, i need to do mine but thought the price was a bit steep, if it helps i will give it a shot.btw does it make it louder?

re

erm,

i am probably wrong but i'm sure the pipe out of the bottom of the airbox goes to just liek a resvoir, not to an air feed? i was told it was there to reduce induction noise?

on mine that was all removed and a feed ran down in that sort of direction to front.

removing oe airbox completely is definately the way to go.

Re: re

For some reason i cannot get my standard airbox out the engine bay, ive taken the two very long screws out the top, and then one at either end of the box, but it feels like its still fastened onto the car actually under the wing or something, it definantly wasnt coming out anyway!

Re: re

you have to take the wheel off and then take the arch liner out and bring the airbox out from under the wing i'm afraid. found that out on saturday night :( sounds awesome now tho :)

Re: re

YEP! I set aside 4 hours to do mine :(
lost my temper as couldn't find socket set and attempted to take it out with pliers. ended up punching it and snapping the bracket holding it in ;) lol.

Re: re

HAHA love it, its the best way!

Ok well if we use the pic below as an example,

right.jpg

Is the pipe with a green arrow connected to the pipe with a bluw arrow, and where does the pipe witha blue arrow lead to?

KeithR

re

no they are not connected the green arrow is the oe pipe to the airbox, but moved to just flow air in i guess

the blue arrow is the one that i tihkn just goes no where into a liek plastic resevoir lol

i coudl be wrong though

Re: re

Would it not be possible to just break the OE airbox off because im not too fussed about keeping it???

Would it be too risky?

KeithR

Re: re

the oe air pipe does not give to much cold air so another feed is needed, (bule arrow in the pic above) needs to be run tothe front bumper so air can be forced up it when moving.

Re: re

Ok thanks Lee, the pipe with the blue arrow above, what is the origional purpose of the pipe? Thanks

KeithR

Re: re

The one whith the blue arrow is dan cold air feed wich he has put in like mine.

The green arrow is the one that went thru to the oe air box. There was no pipe coming out of the bottom of mine, but there is loads of room down there i might try and get two air freeds coming up.
