Hello,
Have read a few threads about alarms but got a few questions to ask.
I paid for a factory fitted alarm for my 500 when I ordered it. The car is only a 500 1.2 pop but I always feel happier with an alarm system- at times its parked on the road and at more of a risk.
Anyway when it came I was told "we have to fit the transponder at the dealers" and its not arrived. Now I dont know if this is true or a fairy story while they covered for sourcing an alarm to fit. Anyway time dragged on as did the weeks before it was finally fitted. A quoted fit time of 1-2 hours turned into 7 hours- I dont know how long of that was actually fitting the alarm.
A few weeks later the alarm started to play up going off in the middle of the night etc - not good so back it went. I wasnt even sure if I could lock the car without setting the alarm with it all being via the key. One frustration was there was no instruction leaflet to explain setting, unsetting etc so was sure of how to lock without arming.
Anyway got it back but it has gone off a few more times since. It does a number of beeps when I unlock when its gone off.
The alarm appears to be a META alarm system and I am not sure what I have paid for. It has internal censors and a bonnet switch but does not appear to have a shock censor as I can rock the car without anything happening. Some have also suggested it should also have a certificate but dont have one. Any thoughts and advice would be a great help.
Thanks

as far as I am aware its a dealer fit.
I asked when I ordered mine and was told it was adealer fit...
its a cat 2 to 1.
I had mine fitted at an aproved alarm fitters instead.
who said it was fiddly and took them 5 hours.
its a genuine fiat part but still is awkward as instuctions are for LHD
no shock sensors.
just sensors in car and siren and bonnet switch.
but it uses usual key / remote.
No problems with mine ....:)

How to dealership fit intergrate with the CANBUS system? As it needs to leave the factory fitted to the car for the car to recognise it properly so I'm led to believe (n)

As its particar for the fiat 500
it plugs into the Can and makes it a 2~1 alarm which means the existing cat 2 imobiliser is untoached.
