Hi guys,

Like many on here my Blue&Me system eventually packed up and I experienced a parasitic battery drain and flashing odometer.
I fixed this by disconnecting the Blue&Me module behind the side panel and resetting the vehicle with a proxy alignment. (why did they stick the module in such an awkward place? )

I now have a dead Blue&Me USB socket and would like to replace it. I wondered if anyone had done this?

Could I put an aftermarket one in?

Alternatively, I was thinking about fitting something like this, but it's not such a neat solution as using the existing USB socket:

What would your advice be?

I can run a USB from the cigarette lighter socket but it seems to reboot itself after the car starts (at least twice) - which is annoying and interrupts any Bluetooth connection with the radio.

Appreciate your knowledge and help!

This guy removes the cigarette lighter socket and replaces with a usb port. His car is a later generation 500 I think:
