The body roll is starting to get to me... :bang:

I need to purchase front and rear strut braces for my 2001 MPi Seicento Sporting. It's a mark two with the new bumpers.

Ive contacted two sellers on eBay and i haven't got anywhere, they list this strut brace for pre 2002

Its a straight bar as you can see, the one listed post 2002 is shaped. Is this to navigate around the big air filter housing in the MPi or is it to do with the ecu placement and other things? I'm running an induction kit, so don't have the original box. Question is will this straight one fit? If not do i go for the 2002 onwards listed one?

I'm aware there isn't a rear strut brace available for the Sei but i spotted this on eBay and wondered if anyone had tried one before? Haven't taken any measurements but it could be made smaller by cutting and welding anyways. If not has anyone else made anything for the rear?

There's no rear struts to brace:D

I've seen one cento with a rear brace, a silver one thats being broken(or already done) by Donna (may still be in classifieds, or maybe worth a PM). It welds in I think, but not sure if it'll make a difference as the suspension is different to the front.

I do believe it is due to the airbox, but if you have got rid then you would most likely be able to fit the straight one. Do you have ABS?

Depending where the rear strut is situated it can have a fairly nice effect of stiffening the shell 'box' around the rear archs. However while this in my experience improves handling a little, more so when you remove the rear seats, it may also increase chassis flexure in the middle of the car as a side effect.

Donna doesn't have the car any more.

If you do a bit of a search elsewhere on here there are threads that offer info on fitting a Mpi version OMP strutbrace, they aren't exactly a perfect straight fit, but they work well once a few tweaks have been made to get them on (I've got one fitted on my 2003 Sei & have posted pics of how I fitted it).

P.S: Having re-read the thread I've linked to it reads like it is the hardest thing in the wolrd to fit one, but I honestly did not find it that bad, although Kristian/Kritip gave up on His I think.
