No, but I have had a problem with a plastic tee-piece near the heater hose. The hose flew off one night and I noticed first that the heater stopped working, and second that the evening had become very foggy. Steam poured out the sides of the bonnet when I stopped.

The problem was that the plastic fitting had broken in the past, and thus the hose had nothing much to tighten onto. Check, with your expansion tank, that something similar hasn't happened? There should be a brass tube reinforcing the centre of the pipe fitting that sticks out of the tank. Tap it back into place if necessary. There should also be a 'bulge' at the end of the pipe fitting. If not, it has probably broken off and you should look for another tank.

I've had many run ins with that notorious T piece as well!!! Its caused far too many water leaks in the past so i replaced it with a copper T piece instead now.

the copper tube is firmly in there, but for some reason the hose has just slipped straight off, dont want to over tighten the clip as may damage the tank or the hose itself, having said that the hose is a little "swollen" might have to fish around for a replacement, what i did notice is that it's got renault stamped on it...obviously not a proper part.....
