exhaust issues... snapped tailpipe?

hi as my title suggests the tail pipe on my back box has snapped off, will it be expensive to fix and can i drive the car still? its not really affecting the engine it just shudders a tiny bit on acceleration and is noisy as you'd expect.



please help as im useless with car knowledge and dont wanna go to garage and get ripped off...

EDIT after some googling i might be wrong about it being the back box... but to simplifiy thigs its the pipe at the very back of the car the wider peice is ok just where the rust and snapped off bit is.

If it's the very back 6inch piece that sticks out the very end, then no need to worry.. you can still drive it as is.

If it's before the back box... ie engine end, then it will need to be repaired/replaced.

Exhausts are made of very thin metal, and welding them up isn't an easy job if it's rusted away.. You can't weld rust !!
