Help!04 Stilo 1.9 JTD - Dash Completely Died

I have an 04 fiat stilo dynamic 1.9 JTD and thes entire dash has completely died (whilst driving) - no speedometer, rev counter, fuel gauge, computer or light - nothing other than the headlight light will come on. I flicked my full beam to see if it even came on in the dash and it won't. Instead it began counting 30s follow me, 50s follow me, 120s follow me ...up to 210 follow me in the LCD computer display were only the time and mileage shows when the door is open!

Has anyone got a clue what this could be?? the car is driving fine and headlights etc are working. I am starting to think that it is posessed!!

I had this nearly 18 months ago when I took it to Fiat they had to replace the whole pinnacle not cheap approx £350, I thought it was an earth problem but found out it was the amplifier inside the pinnacle. been ok since. there are 2 connectors at the back one to the ECU and the other to the internal computer its the ecu one that as gone down the other will display the LCD functions but they do talk to each other, mine was very intermittant at first, one day would work then while driving the whole lot would switch off, this happened for about 2-3 weeks then it just went dead awkward at night as all the lights went out as well. Hope it is just an earth but I won't hold my breath.

Thanks guys -its with a mechanic that has done any work on it over the past 1.5 yrs before I bought it so hoping to point him in the right direction. I thought that it might be a loose connection as 2 days ago I hit a bump in the road which was pretty bad (most in Ireland and the north are unless you are on mortoways) but eveything seemed fine. This is the only thing that I can think may have caused it so hopefully it is a bad earth -I will update you after the mechanic has a look at it today or tomorroW!!

Happened to me. Luckily just a loose fuse (in the fuse box below the steering wheel) - pushed every one - fixed it.
