Technical ESR and cruise control failure

Hi All.

Got the dreaded ESR failure message on my 2.2 Prestigio this morning and also the cruise control didn't work. I lost the cruise control light from the dash and however much I toggled the switch on the stalk it wouldn't come on. Pulled over and restarted engine and ESR warning seemed to clear and cruise control light back on but cruise control not working. Any ideas please?

ASR - apologies! Noticed at lunchtime that the offside brake light is out - could that cause the error?

The brake light is unlikely to be the cause, but might be worth changing just incase, you know what Fiat are like
