I suspect you would never notice the ESP working anyway, if it came on you would be involved in some trickey manouvres that I suspect would mean you were not looking for flashing dash lights but instead preparing for a change of underpants when the car stopped.

You're actually pretty correct The only time I experienced ESP kicking in was when I made a sharp right turn way faster than I would normally do. I heard clacking noises coming from the direction of the brakes and yes, I didn't even think of looking at the dash As I was really unprepared for this, I can't really tell what happened with the car, but at one moment I was almost flying out of the road and the next - back on track. Good lesson learned - I would never try fast sharp turns again, except on a track...

Its flashing!!!!

Found a open space car park and tested the asr, in second gear when i floor it and turn left or right the asr kicks in reducing power and the light flashes. it wont flash in a straight line only when it detects the car sliding.

Handbrake turns however is a different story

Mine only flashes when both wheels are spinning not when only one is doing it as far as I can tell.

BTW its useless on snow with ice underneath as I found out today, think its down to the 225 tyres. Other with smaller cars never had near as many problems as I did trying to get parked on a slight incline. Got on a bit better turning the traction control off but then the car sways and slides about. Cant complain though not as if we have this much snow up north that often!
