Hi all i have a 1.6 Stilo 2004 dynamic all was well until the engine fault light came on and the car will not respond to the accelerator pedal, i am assuming its been placed in some sort of limp mode? revs sit rock solid at just over 1000rpm no matter what i do with the accelerator pedal.

I ran it through a fault reader which returned the message:

p0530
A/C Refrigerant Pressure
p1220
Manufacturer Specific

i wiped the error codes but on start up they return immediately, rendering the car totally underivable.

any help would be much appreciated

thanks

disconnect the connector on top of the AC pressure switch (at the right side of the radiator) and try if this solves your throttle problem.
If so then replace the pressure switch.

Hi thanks for the reply and the suggestion, could you please tell me abit more about the pressure switch and how/where i can find it so i can give it a go.

thanks

an update.

i found and removed the connector from the top of the ac pressure sensor, but the fault remains and the car still wont rev.

i removed the fuse for the compressor (f19) the car wont start but the engine light isnt on??

any other suggestions, can it really be that an ac problem is preventing the stilo from being driven?

thanks

thanks again for the reply

i swapped over the t9 relay and it made no difference the accelerator pedel still wont rev the car.
on another persons advice i went through the procedure to reset the pedal position and that too made no difference.

i dont even understand why the pedal is disable if the prob is with the ac? am totally lost

i just searched for it and found the instructions on this forumn but not sure how accurate it is?

Search p1220 most recent topic says the temperature sensor was at fault green connector?

throttle needs learning? more advice please

Hi all,

this is a follow up to my original post about my 2004 1.6 stilo.

the car will now not idle as it cuts out as soon as its started, an auto electrician ran some diagnostics today which returned, throttle needs learning.

any advice would be really appreciated as i am at a loss what to do now.

Re: throttle needs learning? more advice please

Maybe You need to get it cleaned before, that's easy to check.
Throttle relearn (Manual procedure):
Turn the ignition key to ON position (engine off)
Wait 60 seconds, the time required for the control unit to check the throttle body's internal spring and the butterfly's maximum/minimum angles.
Turn the ignition key to the OFF position
Wait 10 seconds, the time required for the control unit to save the learnt values in EPROM.
