Erratic idling!!

I,ve got a 2000 fiat brava, 1,2 and the idlic is erratic.Been to a fiat dealer and they said it needs a new Stepper Motor??

Will any other garages be able to do this for me or its only the Fiat dealer that can.

hey m8 i had the exact same problem, i took it to a nearby garage, they told me it was the idling valve...they ordered a new one and fit it for me (it was all on warrantee)...so might be worth taking the car to a garage you trust..

when u say irratic, do u mean, up and down (not constant) or just idles higher than normal...??

Thank you all for your responses.Yes the idling is not constant which is quite annoying.Will take it to tha garage and get it checked.

Im not sure whare the link is?? i have forgotten how it goes, but you send Mr wimmy AKA the Boss/ site owner a fiver,or pay through paypal and he sends you a members card, and it say's boo member under your title every time you post Wooo hooo!!.
