Hi,

I'm new to the forum, and need some help with a Bravo JTD i recently bought. Basically the car was a bit of a gamble on Ebay, being sold as a non runner (Turned out to only need a new battery)

Anyway, Since restarting it's saying EPS, Airbag, ABS, ASR all arnt working. I've checked the battery which is good (New i know, but worth checking anyway) and the alternator is fine too, i'm getting 14v when the engine is running. I also scanned the car recently and found error code P0601 which relates to an ECU memory error, however this was cleared and never came back. Spoke with a guy at ECU Doctor (who was very helpful) who said it will have come on due to the original flat battery, but if it isnt coming back isnt an issue.

Does anyone have any other ideas of where to start on this? Any info is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi. So are you confident they cannot be cleared.

Safety kit codes. Dont tend to just clear..they have to be actually switched off. Charlie . Oxford

Hi,

I have a friend who's a mechanic coming out to look at it this week, he has the full diagnostic software and will check to make sure there's no other codes, but there's definitely non showing when i use my little cheap scanner.

I've checked the fuses in the engine bay, next to the battery, is there another box inside the car? if so do you know where about it is?

Thanks for your replies.

Hi all,

So a friend of mine who has full scan software came round yesterday and scanned the car. He found numerous codes but cleared them all which left just the Electric Power Steering (U1702) and the ABS. Chances are the ABS isnt working due to EPS, so thats my first task to tackle.

Apparently the code means there's no reading coming from the unit, and i've found there's no power going to the unit (makes sense). I've checked the Fuses in the Engine Fuse Box which is fine, and checked the cables coming out the back and they're fine too (they have 13.97v coming from them).

So somewhere between the engine fuse box and where the connection goes to the EPS there's a break.

Does anyone know if there's another fuse box inside the car, and if so where? I thought there would be but cannot find one :s which is strange i know!

What year Bravo?
A typical Bravo has 3 fuse boxes, 1 under bonnet, one behind dash and one in the luggage compartment. You need to check the under dash one. You have to remove trim to get at it but I can't find the exact location without the year. Do you have the owners manual? if not, download it and see what it says. There are copies for most models in the download section on the Forum.

So.... an update for you all.

Maggers was completely right, it was all just a fuse! Basically it was Fuse F72, its a MIDI fuse that attaches right to the battery. Replaced it and the EPS, ABS and ASR all now work :)

Still need some new glow plugs and i have an airbag warning light on, but i'm happy with the fact that a new fuse fixed three of the issues. (The guy i bought it off was selling cheap because of these problems, so i'm more than happy with it only needing a £1.50 fuse).

Thanks very much for all your help everyone, it's appreciated!

now it's all connected / powered-up.
your mates kit SHOULD give a detailed breakdown of the airbag light's issue
