Hi !
New kid on the block. New to bravos. Experiencing audible engine whine at most revs. Pitch of whine varies with revs. 35k on the clock. Wasn't there at 20k when I bought the car. Anyone else experienced the same or got any idea what it is ? All responses much appreciated. Nigmyk

Bad earth could be a problem. If your earth is not the problem try looking at some ground loop isloators from Maplin. They plug onto your RCA's and block the interference.

Re: Re: Engine whine

i'm confused, do you mean the engine whines or you can hear engine whine through the stereo? If it's stereo do as wimmy says, if it's the engine does it go away when you press the clutch?

Re: Re: Re: Engine whine

yeh i hav a similar problem in my 2.0 20v, wen the clutch is pressed the whining goes.Any idea? thanx

ok cheers, i'll check that. thanx

engine whine

whine is there all the time, engine not stereo, much worse when clutch is depressed or raised. very noticeable in neutral as well as when in gear. at 15mph in low gear just touching clutch slightly will cause noticeable whine.
