I drive a 2001 fiat brava 1.2 16v and i am having trouble when i accelerate there seems to be a bit of hessitation and i notice my fuel level dropping quicker than usual over the past weak any advice .Iam a novice where cars are concernedhttps://cdn-i.fiatforum.com/images/smilies/banghead.gif

Hey borobob,

I think you need to check youre spark plugs, they often cause the problem of the engine not running smoothly

Hi, and welcome,
any work / servicing done lately..??

any warning lights..?? warning lights leave a stored message ( fault code),
plugging a reader into the car will give a big clue as to where the fault lies,

could be poor sparks,
fuel metering, etc

does it start well , and perform o.k. COLD.. does temp gauge get to half-way..??,
Charlie

no warning lights car starts first time .engine serviced last tear ht leads replaced when serviced .engine erratic in third gear at first now same in fourth .temperature gauge reading ok any ideas much appreciated

Hi again,

glad you sussed it,

out of interest is it 1 coil on the bravo/a or 2 like a lot of modern FIATS..??

best to ask any other stuff in the Bravo section..as longer threads in here get missed..,

cheers,
Charlie

Good news on the simple fix.... congrats.

The smaller engined Bravas and Bravos (certainly 1.4 and 1.2) all use the very common Fiat / Bosch single coil pack, common to even the late Tipos and some of the Puntos. It fires the leads / plugs in pairs.
