Hi
I am back again with another frustrating Ducato Motorhome 2.8jtd 2001.
Just parked up for the night and decided to move forward a few metres, tried to start the engine turns over fine, just won't start.Got the injector light on the left of the dash showing and will not go off I know that while this light is on the engine will not fire up.
Could anyone please point me in the right direction to get this problem solved,it has happened before and I thought it had been solved but sadly it is back. Anyone knows an answer Help please.

Did you check under the car to see if everything is dry and all the cables are alright? Maybe there's a leak somewhere that prevents it. I got the problem where the fuel injector light lit up randomly when starting the car and mids driving as it seems there are several types of oil filters, so you need to see which one fits it best

Still waiting for the breakdown service. Has any one got a solution to this problem
Regards Bernard

Isn't that light signaling glow plugs problem? If it is, engine not starting is normal outcome on cold weather if glow plugs are bad.
Is this an HDi engine?
I believe the ECU cold start setting is so efficient on these that glow plugs are only required for subzero temps.

The OP describes the vehicle in post #1 as a "2001 Ducato 2.8jtd" of which the Peugeot version is designated 2.8HDi.

The 2.8jtd does not use conventional glow plugs, but instead a flame starter, or alternatively an electric "thermal strter". The flame starter appears to be more common.

CamperVanBeethoven is partly correct in that the flame starter is only required at sub zero temperatures. I cannot remember this device operating on my vehicle.

Unfortunately this problem has the symptoms of an immobiliser key code issue. Reading the stored fault code should confirm this. One possible cure which compromises security, is to remove the chip from the key and stick it inside the steering column shroud, close to the aeriel ring. A simpler move is to remove any extra keys from the same ring as the ignition key.
