Hi All.
Just got my car a few weeks ago, and there is one problem that I can't figure out. Looked through many threads on here, and my Haynes manual, but can't seem to find the same thing.
1991 Uno 1.1 ies
Engine starts fine, but as soon as any torque is applied (eg. engaging the clutch), it will stall, unless the throttle is fluttered quite rapidly. Even then, it needs a fair ammount of revs/fluttering to acually be able to move. If the throttle is held down, but still, it will stall. Has to keep moving.
This happens until the engine is warm (5-10 mins). After that it runs fine, but the tickover is high. I would guesstimate about 1100rpm. If I place my foot behind the accelerator and pull it upwards, the revs drop to normal.
I've changed the fuel filter, and leads ect. seem ok.
I noticed that the round plunger type device next to the throttle cable plate doesn't touch the end of it, if that has some meaning. I remember once, it popped out, and the revs went down to normal. Of course, by then, the engine was hot, so had no way of knowing if that made it run ok from cold too.
Fuel consumption seems way too high also.
Hope someone can help, as it's not great sitting revving the thing for 10 mins before I can leave!
