Fiat Fiorino 1.3 mjet diesel 2008 van

hi all
Could some one Please confirm engine rotation.
Looking at camshaft pulley from wheel arch which way does engine turn
clockwise or anti clockwise
Doing timing Chain and cant seem to find out that information.
Didn't observe it before stripping it down.
Many Thanks gromit

I think you will find it is clockwise like normal at the crankshaft pulley but the crankshaft pulley nut /bolt is anticlockwise to tighten.
Obviously the chain drives one shaft which is gear driven to the second shaft will go in the opposite direction.

Sorry not been on sooner .

I watched a video that stated that
If the crankshaft Bolt loosens to the right then rotation is anti clockwise
and visa versa
I watched another video of a 1.3 mjet engine timing chain being done and and crankshaft turned right .Bolt went left to tighten .

that was my confusion.
so chain on all rockers checked out
removed timing pin /locks etc
just want to turn engine over from crank (heater plugs out )
before i fit sump .
Many thanks for your input.

Main thing on those engines as for most, is always turn over by hand several revolutions to ensure no metal contact before trying to start engine, as you have mentioned.
The other thing is a new crank pulley bolt and correct torque on bolt as it is a free wheeling pulley.:)

Thanks Bugsymike
Renewed drive shaft bolt
torqued drive shaft bolt to 50nm + 75 degrees
Had an extra tooth type lock bolted against flywheel teeth
As well as locking pin
It was very hard to do.
I will follow up when I eventually get there.
It's took a long time cos I was otherwise engaged.
