Engine revving by itself

I'm a newbie to the site wonder if anyone can help me with a bit of advice.
I have a Fiat Pallio 1200, and suddenly I has started revving by itself, to drop the revs I have to turn the key off and on.
Can anyone advice me what can I do to rectify this problem.

Fiat Pallio 2006 8v, please could you tell me what theses 2 parts are called and what do they do.
I have tried to find a Manuel for this vehicle but apparently there isent one.

It would help us if you took pictures of them in the car, but even so, the first one appears to be the throttle position sensor, and the second one a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor.

Yes any of those can cause an engine to rev up and down on it's own....but so can a lot of other things... like a vacuum leak, a bad injector, bad fuel pressure....etc

No manual for the Palio, I'm afraid, only dealers got them.
