I have a 1959 500 Nuova (USA version) that I'm rebuilding the motor on. It has the standard 66,xxx mm cylinders for a 479cc engine. One of the cylinders is in pretty good shape, and could get by with a .2 mm overbore, but the other is in pretty bad shape -- no spark plug in it for a decade or more, with lots of crud and rust inside the cylinder. Not sure yet how deep the rust goes.
Can these cylinders be bored out to the 67.4 mm used on the 499cc engines? If I need to replace the cylinder(s), do the 67.4 mm cylinders drop right into the 479 cc block (ie, is the outside diameter of the lower cylinder sleeve the same as the 66 mm cylinders)?
