Has anyone else had this problem?

I was driving to my digs in London last night when i heard a beep and the computer said to check the engine. The injection system light came on (the one like and engine).

I managed to get to London and even managed to get up some big hills with little or no acceleration.

The car is now at the Fiat dealer in Catford being plugged in to the system, but I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem.

Annoyingly it is 5 weeks over its 3 year warranty period.

It's a 1.9 16v Multijet Eleaganza Auto

sounds like the EGR valve to me you can clean them up we get a lot of problems on alfa gt diesels doing the same. same engine near enough

Swirl valve actuator? Some Alfas have needed a new inlet manifold for this (it ends up being the manifold that has caused the actuator to fail - diagnosed after the second failure), may be worth complaining to Fiat to see if they will contribute if it is as it can be expensive. Can't remember how much but if you search for 'swirl valve' and 'inlet manifold' on www.alfaowner.co.uk you'll see what I mean.
HTH.
