Technical engine light !

hey everyone, new to this whole thing , ive got a 1.2 8v mk2 punto on a 2002 plate and ive got the engline light on wether or not its surposed to be on with the engine im not sure any one no ?

It should come on when you first put the key in the ignition and turn it, but should go out soon after. If it's not going out then you need to get the codes read and reset it.

You can do the code reading bit yourself, there's a thread about what to buy and how to do it somewhere here!

If you reset it and it comes back then you need to look carefully at the error codes and work out what's wrong.
