Well wife's 2015 lounge 1.3 threw a wobbly yesterday with the engine management light on, orange 'Alert' triangle illuminated and the S/S not working.
Car started and drove fine.
Our Great Little Fiat Dealer in Chepstow (Motor Services) couldn't see the car until next Thursday and as they are 25 miles away was a bit concerned about driving it that far. I posed the question 'Could it be the battery'. The car was registered December 2015 and has the original battery. They thought it might be and suggested I put it on charge overnight. This made no difference so thought I would try by replacing the battery.
Didn't particularly fancy doing it and knew about a £100 should get a decent battery (had seen some ridiculous prices banded about).
In the event I contacted Chris Mullins Tyres in Gloucester and as always they were extremely helpful. Took the car in this afternoon (appointmet only at present) as they had quoted £145 fiited for a Yuasa battery .
When I got there Chris asked if they should check the battery rather than replacing it. I said it must be due replacement whatever else wassd wrong.
Well battery changed and all lights out and car good.
The wonder of modern electronic warning systems eh!
