Engine has started stalling at stop

Hi,
For the last few days my car keeps stalling at the lights and when I am coming to a stop (it does it in 1st and 2nd gear). It seems to be running at low revs. I have a 99 1.2 SX bravo.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to what needs changing/fixing before I take it to the garage and have to pay bag loads of cash?

Idle actuator valves are a common failure in 1.2's and will cause this problem.

bet your bottom dollar its the lamda sensor, would need more info on its behavior, fuel economy, idle speed, loss of power in low gears? it would cost you at least 40quid to find out for sure

Thanks. I've reset the ECU, if there is no improvement I will try your recommendations.
