General engine diferences

hi there
can you guys help me i´m a car noob

what are the diferences betewn the 1.2 petrol engine on a 2004 IDEA and the 2006 GRANDE PUNTO ? 8 to 16 valves ?
have boot cars and apart from diferent gearboxes and wheigth, tink!
my question is because my IDEIA seems a powerfull,torkey and rev happy ( and its not because was used to a 110 hp diesel )
and my GP feels like dead after 4º gear!

instead o googling this think you guys can give me a better answer.

Think the idea only took the 1.2 16valve.

Also check how many rpm the car is doing at about 100kph, the idea could be revving far higher.

yes your rigth, the ideia is 16 v
my gp needs more revs for 100 kph than the ideia
about 400 rev +/-
the idea is less aerodynamic, heavier
but after all get better mileage per litre on the ideia ( suposed to be the contrary!)

In the UK there is no 1.2 petrol - all petrols are 1.4litre 16 valve engines, or 1.3 diesels (with either 70 or 90bhp as the two diesel variants).
