Technical Fiat Idea 1.4 Petrol - Weird Engine or Gearbox Scraping Sound

My car is a 1.4 petrol. I have owned it for 16 years so I know it well. It is now 19 years old. A few days ago it started making a weird engine sound - like metal scraping! It started this when it was idling on the driveway after a journey.
Please have a listen to the audio on this Youtube video I made. I strapped an iPhone into the engine and then synced the audio with the dashcam. Even my neighbour who was on his drive commented when I drove back in that it is making a weird sound.
Any ideas? It has a Dualogic transmission, but I am confident that has nothing to do with the sound as it ultimately is a manual gearbox anyway. Maybe it's related to the age of the clutch which is the original and now 19 years old! It is defintely nothing to do with the wheels or brakes. I changed the oil and plugs today in case that helped but it made no difference.

If I sit at idle and select neutral, or reverse or gear 1 the sound changes. It seems noisier in neutral. Any help appreciated.
I am checking the gearbox fluid level to see if it's lost too much gearbox oil. The area below the drain valve had a drip clinging to it.

It does sound like clutch or gearbox to me but i'm not sure. Someone else who's heard this before will chip in before long.

Does anyone know a reputable Fiat expert down Kent way? I will happily travel further if I know that I am dealing with someone who knows their stuff.
