engine dies after 10 miles

I have a 1996 brava 1.4. After about 10 miles the engine dies and wont restart. leave it for 15 minutes and the engine starts and will run for a couple of miles and dies. I have changed the fuel filter and fuel pump and single point injector and the problem is still present. tried loosening the fuel filler cap in case it was a vacuum in the tank but that made no difference. anybody any ideas?

is there any oil in it???


Is the cam short of oil, getting hot, expanding and stalling the engine due to not moving??


im guessing also it stalls on low revs, tick over eveytime??? Rather than crusing at 5,000revs and then it loosing power and stops???

oil not a problem, engine cuts out when driving normally, engine will turn over ok but will not fire. seems to be something switching fuel pump off.

faulty fuel cut off switch under the passenger seat. there's like a button under there that turns the fuel pump on/off - it self activates in a crash. tells you all about it in the manuel.
