Technical engine diagnostics

Hi everybody, i'm new at using forums so please bear with me

I have a 2 year old Doblo taxi which is just coming out of warranty at 60k miles, I intend to either do my own srvicing or get a local retired mechanic to do it. The prob is how to cancel the various warning lights and messages on the dashboard. Is it possible to connect my laptop to the vehicle to do this?

I bought an obd 11 code reader from fleabay, which plugs into a socket on the right handside lower dash, on the bottom of the fuse board, it will read the code faults for you, and will wipe them, you get a code book with it, I think it was about £15.00 ?
It wont reset the annoying service due message though, but I think you can just drive on and ignore that though.

Thanks for the info i'll try a code reader to start with and see where i go from there
