Engine conversions?

So i'm craving more power from the bravo. What i want to know is what other cars are based on the tipo platform.

Obvious ones are the Coupe, marea, alfa 156 but is there anything else?

only thing to do mate is get it remapped and get some head work done and decat it.

theres a place round near me that does head work,thinking of taking mine there soon

Remap

I wanted to get my bravo tunned up a little, you know fast as a f**king rocket LOL
But the bloke I spoke to told me that the ECU in the Bravo could not be remapped, so it would all have to be ripped out & replace at a cost of around £700.
Now is that bull crap or is it the case....?

& would a chip be a cheapper quicker way to get a little more out of an all ready quick little car??

the 155 can have a re-map BUT it increases the BHP by about 8.... it does smooth out the rev range but it doesn't make it feel any more quicker.

Removing any passengers and most of the fuel will give you the same performance to the remap IMO.


The only way to get more power is to change the engine, there is a guy that keeps saying he will do a 20vt conversion for £1000, so thats the cheapest answer.

I have an old 1974 mini clubman but with a Honda Del sol vtec engine in it - LOVE IT

It's a MK3 shell mate, it was for nothing pretty much. So i have the option of putting any engine i feel like in it, well, what i can afford and do haha!

The del sol Vtec was 160bhp wasn't it? Bet that goes like stink! Did you do the conversion yourself?

Yeah 1.6 DOHC 160 bhp, I didnt do it myslef mate is a mini fan and has a couple 1 with a yamaha R1 engine in it and someone wanted to sell this so I brought it. It shifts like anything, having problems with the standard mini lite wheels on at mo as can't use 1st and maybe 2nd as just spins, it nice try and get some pics up if I can but not a member so dont know if it allows me
