Technical Engine compression test

Hello,

So can I get some views on what an engine compression test would achieve?

I am hoping if I get one done it would specify and problems like the rough idle am getting, sluggish acceleration and the non starting engine I get ocassionally.

This be right?

A compression test will tell you if you have good or bad compression. (So, for example can help diagnose a blowing head gasket).

But you have no symptoms of that... so probably a waste of time.

So what would I look for on multiecuscan to get readings of everything like to check my acceleration is ok etc?

None... it can't really tell you that. If no fault codes are being created, then the car's computer thinks all is OK.

A real mechanic can explore and diagnose... clogged breathers, restricted fuel, binding brakes, worn bearings, the list goes on and on, and most cannot be detected by electronics. Try driving a similar Panda from somewhere else to see if yours is as bad as others.

So I don't currently have any fault codes on my Panda, from what I got from an Autel device scan.

So maybe not invest in multiecuscan at the moment until I get a engine management light?

Correct (I think I said this a couple of weeks back but the answers from others headed off into a different debate.)
A code reader can read codes. Nothing more (well, a bit more, but nothing terribly helpful)
