OK its official fiats are crap! i pulled outta my mate street the other night and summit under the bonnet sounded like it snapped! now ive got a persistant clicking noise which only happens when i dont accelerate it also slows down wen the revs do! HELP anyone!

and my clutch is also makin quite a rather shite noise considering its only 5/6k miles old wen i put the clutch down it makes a rattling squeeky noise which in all fairness it bloody loud! and along wiv the ticking it makes 1 hell of a bastard noise!

help :) see the fine lack of shorthand text :)

why do people call their cars crap when wear & tear items fail?

How much did you pay for the clutch? The correct clutch kit for the Bravo is £90-100 from AP/Delphi/Borg&Beck.

Fiat themselves don't make clutches, in the same way Fiat get Brembo to make the brakes for the Bravo. Yes, the stock calipers ARE brembo! :) They make more than just posh brakes.

i didnt pay for it! it was replaced by the knobs who sold it me! :/

do u suggest buying a new clutch from AP/EBC? cause EBC standard replacement is 60 notes! ..but could it be the thrust bearing?

How do you know it was new 5-6k ago...?

Paperwork is easily doctored these days...:(

A pint says it wasn't done! Garages are like that :(

Azza, EBC make cheap crap. The original clutch on my 1.6 lasted over 70k miles.

what u suggest then bud? good point in dont really know it was changed or repaird! was under warranty so no doubt it was a bodged job! but i dont want it goin on me anytime soon! the cars driving fine except earlier it sounded like ****! was lumpy as hell!

You can run the risk of them messing it up or DIY or pay the £180-£200 or so it will cost to get it done properly.

And before anyone says 'fiat are a ripoff' thats a fair price and half is the clutch itself. Mr clutch charged over £200 to do a clutch on a Fiesta!

E-bay

Theres a clutch on e-bay at the moment:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10382&item=2488080420&rd=1

Thats a good price (45 quid at the mo) 65 quid for buy it now. Check with Fiat first if it is the correct one for your engine, as he supplied a part number with it. :)

I paid 40 quid for a full Ferrodo recon clutch kit with 2 years warranty and fitted meself with a mate. My mate does a lot of clutch's, he said he would usually charge 70 quid for a Bravo :) He does Landrovers etc for 120 quid a time!

This post contains eBay links which may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
well i was quoted from UMS £160 wiv parts n labour but it prolly would be better to go to fiat n have it done! i still aint quite sure its the clutch though! gotta get my m8 to have a listen l8r

no matter how hard i try to think that fiats are good! i just cant!

You can't blame an entire brand based on one car and it's previous owner(s).

You should be blaming the monkey garage that fitted the more than likely cheap pap that tried to rip off the previous owner.
