oooohhhhhh yes!!!!!!!!!!!

i have stepped up from an 1108spi with P75 cam and a couple of other tricks to a 1242mpi P75 motor and the difference is unreal

0-62mph down and i can hit 95mph on a standing 1/4mile drag, which is about the same as my mates crx v-tec

if you are going to do an engine swap i would recomend the 1242mpi over the 1242spi (mpi is about 15bhp higher)

dont forget you loose power over time from wear on the engine

16v conversions are getting easier to do now

Yep, thats why im going down the 16v route as opposed to the P75 block.
After talking to Todger and going from a ride in Chalky (his 1.2 16v cento), it doesnt seem that hard to do, maybe a little more expensive but after feeling the difference.... i want one!

But yeh to answer the OPs question swapping the engine for summat with a little more oomph is worth it.
If you dont want to go down that route and maybe want something a little cheaper go for a bigger TB, decent induction, aftermarket exhaust and P75 cam.

Then again it can be cheaper to get an old(ish) Punto 75 engine and just drop it in one afternoon

Cheers

i have to agree with the lads here

yes you get good bang for ya buck with the P75 lump and it is alot of fun but i can see me going 16v in the future if i cant figure a reliable way of doing this supercharger (main prob is finding space lol)

does anyone know if there is a 1.6 16v superFIRE engine????
