Hi have just bought a stilo 1.6 dynamic 2002 plate first start up said engine fault hazard triangle and engine yellow light stayed on car a bit jumpy and juddering sluggish to accelerate from traffic lights any ideas???

Also the radio switches on but will not tune into any stations?

Oh yes and bonnet will not open how can I manually open it?

yes lots of problems but bought car from auction so only paid a tiny price for it have had 3 fiats in the past so am aware how delicate they can be thanks in advance for the advice!

Welcome to the forum..(y) check with your dealer and see if the software has been updated for ecu and throttle body it might need a flash..is your revs going up and down and tick over crap..?

Thanks! No revs seem ok and ticks over ok bit choppy but generally ok not sure about the ecu or throttle not bought from a dealer so whats the best thing to do with it

My radio had an intermittent fault where it would cut out after a while and fail to tune in. It gradually got worse and worse untill it hardly ever worked properly. I snipped down a wire coat hanger to make two removal tongs and pulled the unit out. Cleaned the aerial connectors with contact cleaner and replaced. Hasn't missed a beat since (no pun intended) ;)

Thanks to both of you for your advice will give it a go fingers crossed ! (y)

How do you mean bonnet will not open?
Does the leaver inside work and it pops up a bit? If not, dismantle the leaver inside. There is a very weak plastic part inside it which breaks. When its apart, just pull the end of the cable to release the bonnet.

radio wont tune in

have an 02 stilo radio will not tune in have pressed every button the only thing I cant change is the signal strenth keeps saying 0.0v how can I change this and will it tune the radio in?????? thanks in advance :D

Re: radio wont tune in

No signal = aerial or head unit internal circuitry
So have you done what Minimad advised you to do?

If it's the aerial then there's info in search

If it's the head unit then many people fit a new head unit and there's info on that if you search

And the next item would be "How do I remove the head unit?" - yep you guessed it- :)

The 1.6 tickover should be smooth enough to balance a cup of coffee on the engine so it sounds like you have something adrift there
