General Engine Amber warning light

Hi all. The amber engine warning light has come on and I am getting the message "Check Engine". The van has done 102,000 and runs like new. Oil level is spot on. Could it be the egr valve sticking or the cat converter need cleaning. Any help appreciated.

does it drive ok, turbo spools up?

Yep everything runs fine. The van was chipped a couple of years ago. However I disconnected the battery terminal completely, checked oil, cleaned air filter and checked fuel filter. Pulled a few electrical terminals off their mounts and then put everything back and hey presto amber light has gone off ????

Yes chipped, but I am getting 42mpg loaded as long as I keep to 60mph ??
