After 7 and a bit years of ownership, the frog is going tomorrow.

I've put it in against a 2007 Astra Estate - the 1.3cdti, so still a FIAT at heart.

I've got to say given the miles I've bashed into the Multipla it has done me proud, rarely had a day off and only disgraced itself three times in the time we had it (sadly all in the last two years).

Bought as an ex-demonstrator with 5.5k on it, it's now got nearly 116k on it. The engine I reckon would do it again, sadly the rest of the car isn't build so robustly. Needing discs & pads all round, new handbrake cables and a new suspension arm (bushes gone again) I'm looking at spending a bit to get it through it's next test.

Couple this to the fact that I know the turbo oil seals and gone, the rad is looking past it's best and the steering rack looks a bit oily it's time to say goodbye.

Emptying the car tonight I felt like I was betraying an old friend, it took us on holidays to the south coast, regularly down to Lincolnshire to drop the stepkids off with their dad, brought my baby son back from hospital when he was born - lots of good memories!

Difficult post to reply to but it's fair to say the Frog has had a good innings.

Not many cars spend 110k miles with one owner, as you say good times.

One mans .. .. rubbish etc.

It was loved, the next person might well fix the problems and get the same love and another five years of fun motoring for his money.:D
