General Emmas Multipla Mission

This is probably the nicest colour for a Multipla (IMO), if you're not keen on the sunburst orange of course!!!

I also like that dirty metallic yellow and red too.

I wish my new shape version in metallic black was anything other than black!!! But beggars can't be choosers. I got the car for a bargain £4100 which is a price that some of the newer 2003/4 bug eyes tend to be at dealer or traders.

:idea:any pics of a red un anyone?

Thanks for the links to the sun-shades. We've been driving a bit these past couple of weeks and the children haven't complained about the sun so far. I think they're enjoying seeing so much out of the big windows.

Someone mentioned Multipla portable DVDs. Are they Multipla-specific? How would they differ to others and how much are they, roughly?

Thanks.

Cristina

I have both the clip in shades and also the one's that screw into the doors that clip on to the top of the window.

The only thing I don't like about the latter, is that you leave holes where the shades are screwed in.

And if you wind the window down, the sun will blind you.

update

ok, now im getting fed up, everytime i see a Multi i stand and stamp my feet like a child! My first reaction is :eek::eek:"ooooooh theres one theres one look look!! quick!!!":D then open mouth stylee... "awww its sooo lovely!!" then..que sad face compleate with winey voice...ohhhhhhhhhwa i reeeeeeeally want one:("

Im even searching the local free car ad mag looking which garages have them on the forecourt so i can go and drool:eek::spin:

So ive kicked my bum into gear and ive finally sorted through the zillions of photos on the puter and narrowed them down for the for sale ad (for my Turbo Sei) this time im gonna do a good ad and get it sold! Multi ownership here i come:D...well one tiny bit closer to it anyways

Greetings All(y)

Thought i would start up this thread regarding my mission to own a Multipla!
Im a regular visitor to the Multipla section of late and thought id introduce myself!

Im Emma (obiously!) im a young 30 year old and live in Cheshire (NW), I have a small family of myself, Boyfriend and Daughter.

We are Fiat nuts and love all Italian metal:cool:. Currently we own 5 Fiats, a Uno MK1, Uno MK2, Uno Start, Brava, and a Seicento Turbo (currently for sale).
In the past we have owned between us, more Uno Turbos/Unos, Ford Fiesta, Pug205 GTI, Kitcar, Cinquecento, Seicento Sporting, Fiat 127.

Im desperate for a Multipla atm! I love them!!!:cool::cool: All im waiting on is the sale of my Seicento Turbo to fund it. Ive been a bit lazy on the advertising front and really need to get my bum in gear and sort it if im to get my Multi by the end of the summer:bang:

The Multi i choose to be mine will in the family to stay:) So am going to take my tome finding a good un!
Im impressed with the 1.9JTD version, and am in love with the 'orignal' look Multi, I appreciate they are a 'Marmite' car, and the reaction ive had of everyone ive told (and i mean everyone!!) is "ewwwww"(n)
Is this a normal reaction to Multi ownership? Especially amoungnst fellow Fiat owners?:( Coz im sick of hearing it all ready!!!

I like the optional bodykit, is it called Evolution? So am on the look out for one with this fitted. Might help to know the proper name for it to aid my search, if anyone can enlighten me please(y)

I also have in mind aftermarket alloys and some subtle window tints.

Has anyone reading this fitted aftermarket alloys? What are your experiences of this?

Finally...if youve got this far...thanks for reading! and i hope to be joining you real soon, hopefully i'll be united with a Multi in time for the Ugly Bug Ball next year(y):D

looks lovely!!
What colour is that called?

Sorry its been so long
Im not sure it says orange on the log book but it is mor bronz
have you had any luck selling your car and geting a multi yet.
You seem to know a lot about fiats.
this is my first one.
but my son has just passed his test and bought a Mk1 punto so we now
have 2 in the famly.

CORR BLIMY!!!!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Ive just seen the most gorgeous Multi!!:D
I was working and saw it pull up in the carpark, bloomin lovely it was! i really pinning for it now:cry:
Wish i knew what the colour was called, its really hard to explain:confused: it was Blue, metalic i think, not as dark as navy, but not a light blue either, not a primary blue, but almost, alot softer though hehee!!:p If anyone can tell me what colour blue it was from that discription then you deserve a medal lol!

Anyhoe it was a 54 plate and had blue tinge tints:cool:
Im in lurve:yum:

Really does show though that i should soooooooo keep an open mind on what colour i want, ive gone right off black now, still leaning towards silver, but this blue was well yummy and is on the short list(y)

That's the same colour as mine, and it's my favourite of all the Multipla colours. Try to look at one in the flesh, as it looks different in a picture. The colour changes with the angle of the light, a bit like those expensive colour change paints but not as pronounced.

At risk of sounding a bit "I told you so" ...

I have the Multipla catalogues from 07/04, i.e. 54 plate, and there were only three blue colours:
"Jump Blue" - dark, solid not metallic
"Canary Blue" - metallic mid-blue, with a sort of green tint, depending how it catches the light
"Lagoon Blue" - Metallic light grey-blue

So it sounds like Canary Blue, like mine, as on the old shape on ebay in the earlier post (which you didn't like):;)

thanks(y) thats a good un! With a great spec, and only one owner!
At the risk of sounding rather fussy....im not keen on the colour:eek:

Do I get a medal now ?

haha! think so:worship::p;)

Yeah i remember you telling me about the blue, when i came home and told my OH i said bet it was that colour you were tellin me about, posted and ran last night so didnt search out your post informing about the canary blue.
Down side to me liking it is that i dont think my budget will stretch to a 54 plate(n), thats going off a local car classified for trade cars, gonna have a gander elsewhere (private sales) when i chance

Found what appears to be a good un:)
hows £2495 sound for a 2003 JTD 115 ELX? Cambelt recently done and 74,000 on the clock, full service history

*edit* what should i be looking for when viewing a Multi of this spec/age/mileage, any niggles i should look out for?

Thanks Emm :)

Seems a good price (y)

Is it a Bug one, or mk2/facelift?

Its a Bug of course:yum::cool::D
Its most probs sold now(n) went for a nosy after hours to see if it was the colour blue i like but it was locked away (if there at all) expected the place to be a forecourt but it was just a lock up MOT/repairs garage, an hour wasted but hey ho.

Hey Emm,
I guess its worth checking that its had the front springs replaced, as this seems a common problem, along with the little things like the electric mirrors working correctly. If the front tyres aren't brand new it'd be worth trying to haggle for a new set, ours eats them at an alarming rate! The electric windows on ours have a nasty habit of going up and down very slowly, so I'd be looking out for that too.

When we got ours we noticed alot of the multiplas had paint damage on the edges of the doors where folks had forgotten how wide the car is and how large the doors are, so might be worth a quick check.

Other than that, a good test drive and check the smile on your face when you get back to the garage, always a good indication!
